CHP-T Catcher Tray
The CHP-T Catcher Tray is used with the Corbin Hydro-Press (CHP-1) or the Corbin Mega Mite press (CSP-2) to catch lead extrusions or spent primers, and prevent them from falling into the ram slot, or piling up on the top of the Hydro-Press. The Catcher Tray has two sections:
When used with a Corbin 50 BMG primer seater tool, the shell holder extension body will clamp the Catcher Tray just like a swage die would. The box can hang below the ram plate in the back or front of the press (tray mounts either way) but the three sides of the top section also act as safety shields when you use a core swage or lead semi-wadcutter die for swaging bullets. The bleed holes in these dies are below the height of the side walls, so that if for any reason the extruded lead is expelled with force, it will strike the steel wall instead of your body. If the tray is mounted with the box hanging in the front of the press, the open side of the top section will face the operator. This would not provide the safety guard effect of mounting the tray with the box in the back, so the open side of the upper section faces away from the operator.
The Catcher Tray can also be used with type -R and type -S bullet or jacket reducing dies, by hanging the unit on the top of the draw die, at a slight angle with the 1-1/8 inch hole over the die top. The jackets or drawn bullets emerge from the top of the die and, instead of you having to catch them or letting them fall to the floor, they will drop into the catcher tray. When the tray is full, you can lift it off and pour the content in to another container.
The CHP-T Catcher Tray can be ordered from the Corbin Web Store.
